Common Injuries We Handle in New Jersey Workers’ Compensation Cases
At Cupaiuolo Law, our workers’ compensation team represents employees across New Jersey suffering from a wide range of workplace injuries and occupational conditions. Whether your injury occurred suddenly or developed over time, we help you secure the medical treatment, wage replacement benefits, and permanency awards the law provides.
• Back, Neck, and Spine Injuries
These are some of the most common — and most serious — work injuries. We frequently represent workers suffering from herniated discs, lumbar strain, cervical sprain, sciatica, spinal fractures, and other debilitating conditions caused by lifting, repetitive motion, falls, or workplace accidents. These injuries often require long-term medical care, diagnostic imaging, physical therapy, and in some cases, surgery.
• Shoulder and Knee Injuries
Shoulder and knee injuries can result from lifting incidents, slips, falls, or repetitive motion. We routinely handle claims involving rotator cuff tears, meniscus injuries, ACL/MCL tears, labrum injuries, bursitis, and joint instability. These injuries often prevent workers from performing essential job duties, making temporary disability benefits critical.
• Repetitive Stress & Overuse Injuries (Carpal Tunnel, Tendonitis, etc.)
Occupational injuries don’t always come from a single accident. Many workers suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, trigger finger, tennis elbow, and other repetitive motion disorders caused by typing, lifting, assembly line work, scanning, or machine operation. These cases require detailed documentation to prove the injury is work-related — something our firm handles regularly.
• Construction & Job Site Accidents
Construction sites are high-risk environments, and injuries often involve severe trauma. We represent workers injured by falls from heights, falling objects, ladder and scaffold accidents, heavy equipment incidents, and machinery malfunctions. These cases may include both workers’ compensation claims and potential third-party claims depending on the circumstances.
• Slip and Fall Workplace Injuries
A slip, trip, or fall at work — whether on wet floors, cluttered walkways, icy outdoor areas, or unstable surfaces — can lead to injuries that require extensive treatment. Common resulting injuries include fractures, soft-tissue injuries, concussions, and joint damage. We ensure your medical bills and wage benefits are fully covered.
• Exposure to Harmful Chemicals or Hazardous Environments
Many workers are exposed to toxic chemicals, fumes, dust, mold, and hazardous industrial materials that can lead to respiratory conditions, skin disorders, occupational illnesses, or long-term damage. We help clients prove exposure, secure medical evaluations, and obtain the benefits they deserve.
• Workplace Assaults or Injuries Caused by Machinery
Workers’ comp benefits apply to injuries resulting from assaults by co-workers, patients, customers, or the public, as well as accidents involving forklifts, conveyors, saws, presses, or other machinery. These incidents often lead to severe injuries requiring immediate legal intervention, especially when employers attempt to deny the claim.
